The 2018 National Synthetic Fiber Fabric Product Development Annual Conference was held in Hai'an.

At the meeting, Duan Xiaoping, Vice President of the China National Textile and Apparel Council and President of the China Chemical Fiber Industry Association, delivered a keynote speech titled “A New Vision for Fibers.” In his presentation, he focused on the mid-term evaluation of the chemical fiber industry during the 13th Five-Year Plan period, covering aspects such as production capacity, investment, profits, technological advancements, environmental sustainability, branding, the domestic and international development environment, and future prospects. Duan Xiaoping pointed out that since the start of the 13th Five-Year Plan, the national economy has maintained steady growth with improving trends, and the global economy and trade have begun to rebound from their lowest points. As a result, China’s textile industry has gradually stabilized and recovered, providing strong demand support for the development of the chemical fiber industry. With rising prices of bulk commodities, cost-driven increases in chemical fiber prices have been observed. Meanwhile, thanks to robust demand and smooth price transmission, the operational efficiency and quality of the chemical fiber industry have significantly improved. During the 13th Five-Year Plan period, chemical fiber production is expected to maintain a steady annual growth rate of 3.3%.
