What precautions should be taken after adding a softening agent to high-strength sewing thread?

Type: Prefer nonionic or silicone-based softeners, and avoid reactions with anionic dyes.

When adding softening agents to high-strength sewing thread, pay attention to the following key points:

1. Softener Selection
Type: Prioritize non-ionic or silicone-based softeners, and avoid reactions with anionic dyes.
Performance: Must possess lubricity, antistatic properties, and thermal stability to reduce the risk of yarn breakage.
2. Add quantity control
Concentration: The concentration of the working solution should not be too high to avoid sticking to the rollers or forming a skin.
Process: It is recommended to determine the optimal formulation through small-scale testing, typically ranging from 0.1% to 5% (using amino silicone oil as an example).
3. Processing conditions
pH: Maintain the working solution pH between 5 and 6 to prevent emulsion breakdown caused by an alkaline environment.
Temperature: The roll groove temperature should not exceed 40℃ to prevent insufficient heat resistance of the silicone oil.
Cleaning: Promptly remove short fibers from the fabric surface to prevent the formation of agglomerates.
4. Frequently Asked Questions and Solutions
Silicone oil spots: Check for residual alkali on the fabric surface, or replace with a softer agent that has better hydrophilicity.
Yellowing: Use a low-yellowing softener and avoid high-temperature drying.

The above measures can ensure the processing stability and finished-product quality of high-strength sewing threads.
